Things to do in Golden,BC and surroundings

Adventure at Kicking Horse Resort

  • Hiking and Sightseeing: Explore the alpine trails, enjoy the panoramic views, and visit the Grizzly Bear Refuge.

  • Mountain Biking: For the adventurous, rent a bike and try the mountain biking trails.

  • On-Mountain Dining: Have lunch at the Eagle’s Eye Restaurant at the  mountaintop restaurants with a view or the nice local restaurants at the bottom of the hill such as Double black cafe or Peak Grill

Recommendation: If you are up the mountain, it is a small detour to go to Cedar Lake

 

Sky Bridge Adventure

Hiking - Wapta Falls 

Wapta Falls, located in Yoho National Park, British Columbia, is one of the largest waterfalls on the Kicking Horse River.   • Getting There: It's a 30-minute drive from Golden to the trailhead, followed by an easy 2.3 km hike to the falls.

  • Hiking Trail: The trail is family-friendly with a gentle incline. Bring water, snacks, and a camera.

  • At the Falls: Enjoy the powerful cascades, have a picnic, and take stunning photographs.

 

 



 

Hiking - Thompson Fall

Thompson Falls is a picturesque waterfall located near Golden, British Columbia, known for its serene beauty and tranquil surroundings. It is a hidden gem that offers a peaceful retreat into nature.

Getting there: The trailhead is located off Blaeberry Road, about 20 kilometers north of Golden.

Distance: The hike to Thompson Falls is approximately 1.5 kilometers (0.9 miles) one way, making for a 3-kilometer (1.8 miles) round trip.
